Recently, I heard of Lightscoop from the girls at the SSD Forum. It’s a really nifty gadget that goes over your camera’s pop-up flash to make the light bunce off the walls and ceiling to create an even lighting for your pics. No more harsh lighting from the flash! I rarely use the pop-up flash because of this. But not anymore! LOL

So the Lightscoop costs $30, and I have to wait a month or so for the item to get here when I order items overseas. I was really impatient and want to try it now (and I’m cheap LOL) so I made this really quick:

There’s a 4″ x 3″ mirror and i used scrap cardboard and masking tape — and voila! Here are the results:

What a HUGE difference! These sample pics has not been edited, only resized.

Here’s another pic. This was taken at dusk in an unlit room, my lens’ AF had a hard time focusing on the subject. But this was the result:

 I got wonderfully lighted pics and it cost me NOTHING!!

We have a glass and aluminum store so the mirror was just scrap. Assembling it took less than 10 minutes. While it is embarrassing to use it outside, it’s perfect for home use or if you just wanna try it out before forking over $30 and buying the real thing.

I plan on making a sturdier, more permanent one using acrylic plastic

Well, Christmas season is definitely on! Already had our 9-yr-old Christmas tree up and just missing a string of lights. I haven’t gotten to wrap the presents yet, but most of the presents are ready
